In class, we started our day with our assignment for the
week. After Eddie and Amanda’s
presentation on letters to “Niño Dios,” we were instructed to all write our own
letters to “Niño Dios.” We
brainstormed ideas and wrote our rough drafts. We also spent time on past tense verbs some more… they are still not my favorite!
After class, we decided to take advantage of the sunny
day. Rysen, Eddie, Jaden and I
climbed down the riverbank for a cool dip in the river. We are excited to be having hot weather
again, and look forward to swimming in the river more in January.

Today we spent time on our letters again. We finished them and put them in a bag
that Sonia made. Our plan is to read
them together for Culture class on Thursday. We also spent time on verbs again. I realized how much I need to practice conjugating irregular
verbs. I know it has only been
three months, but today I feel frustrated that there are sooooo many verbs I don’t
know the meaning of… let alone how to conjugate them. Oh well… I will persevere!
Field trip today!!!
Instead of going to CISA for class, we boarded the 8:00am bus to
Turrialba. We met our teachers
there and went on a tour of “portales.”
(Nativity Scenes) Sonia
planned on us seeing about 10 different ones through out the city of Turrialba. Unfortunately, many of the schools were
closed for vacation and we could not get close enough to see them or get good
pictures.
Here are some that we did see:
Also, the big Catholic Church near the central park was
still putting theirs up, so we didn’t have very good luck today. We had fun anyway. We visited Sonia’s house where she has
a very creative garden. She made
all of these figurines, and mostly out of trash.
She also painted this wall at the entrance of her back door.
We ended with lunch and shopping. Jaden took a good long nap when we got home… his little brain absorbed so much today! He just loved walking with us like he was a big kid… Where did my baby go?
